We often think of impulsivity as simply acting too quickly, but spiritually, impulsivity can reveal something deeper about what is directing us. Our thoughts influence our beliefs, our beliefs influence our decisions, and our decisions eventually influence our actions. There will always be a dichotomy between the pull of the flesh and the pull of the Spirit. The question is not whether we will experience that conflict, but which one we will allow to direct our lives.
